Having fun living in Ottawa Rockcliffe Married Quarters?...enjoying
the unploughed (in winter ...not such a problem in summer) pot holed (now
THAT'S a problem in summer!) roads ....lack of sidewalks ....gophers under
the stairs. How about the extra jolt from the leaded water? (we've been
told to run the taps for two minutes prior to using ....for which they
have thoughtfully added water metres!!)
Yes it can be fun here in the married quarters ...but I've found
that a lot of new 'in-postees' have no idea about some of our quirky ...um...problems.

The lead....yup there's lead in the water and now apparently there's lead in the houses as well (heck, the lead dust is the only thing keeping my house together, I think)
The roads...if they can be called such ...with all the pot-holes obstacle course is a more apt term.
The
closure....They say it's to close in ten years ...they've been naming
the same 'ten years' since I got here ...so add that together and it's
sixteen. Perhaps they are talking in dog years!
The gophers....If you are living in Rockcliffe then you've probably got your own family of gophers too.
